The Motiva ‘préservé’ technique was developed specifically for inserting Motiva implants filled with cohesive silicone gel. The ‘préservé’ (French for ‘preserving’) method is mainly used for subtle breast augmentations and has the advantage of preserving as much breast tissue and nerve supply as possible. It also preserves the natural anatomy as much as possible and keeps scarring to a minimum (although slightly larger than with the MIBIS method, which we also frequently use, but considerably smaller than with traditional breast augmentation). The minimally invasive technique also ensures a relatively quick recovery. The doctor will assess which placement method (préservé or MIBIS) will give you the best result. As with any breast augmentation procedure, side effects or complications can occur with Motiva implants, although fortunately these are rare. If at any time you have concerns about the quality, placement, pain, swelling, capsular contracture or anything else, please contact Wellness Kliniek to make an appointment or arrange a breast ultrasound scan with a radiologist (on referral from your GP or specialist). An MRI scan at a hospital or a specialist MRI centre is recommended if you wish to detect a rupture.

This technique is standard practice in our approach and is not an extra at Wellness Kliniek. The difference between having JOY and not having it lies in more comprehensive warranty terms (such as the 5-year extended warranty) and, provided you register in time, extras such as the Woman’s Choice programme.

Only if you value the extra financial security offered by Motiva. You aren’t paying for a better or different type of implant, or a different surgical technique, but for Motiva’s premium warranty package. There is no difference in terms of the appearance, the softness of the implant or the surgical technique. Still unsure? The standard Motiva warranty (also applicable to Ergonomix 2, without the JOY surcharge) covers:

• Lifetime replacement of the implant in the event of a proven rupture (Always Confident, usually confirmed by MRI);
• Up to 10 years’ replacement of the implant in the event of Baker III/IV capsular contracture.

You will receive a new implant if the claim is valid: a demonstrable rupture or Baker III/IV capsular contracture, a recognisable serial number/UDI, and placement carried out in accordance with the guidelines by a qualified surgeon. This may take place in another country or with another doctor, provided Motiva approves the claim. You will be responsible for the surgical costs of the revision procedure.

The Motiva JOY package adds two financial benefits to this (following registration with Motiva within 90 days):

• 5-year extended warranty: in the event of a tear or Baker III/IV within 5 years, up to approximately 2,500 euros towards the cost of reoperation, in addition to a new implant.
• Woman’s Choice: if the implants are removed under the specified conditions, up to approximately 1,500 dollars in support, usually up to 2 years after insertion.
